Yes, I said ain’t! Last week we talked about letting go of those things that may have distracted you from enjoying and appreciating all that you have accomplished in your life. I was reminded after the post, that someone may be dealing with a hurt that is so deeply rooted that it makes letting go much more complicated. You may also be the type that always offers a negative report (glass half empty type). This type of hurt and change in thinking may require some work. This work may be in the form of counseling, medication, or some other alternative forms of treatment like prayer, fasting, reflexology, massages, deep breathing, meditation, music therapy, or time. I want you to know that God can use any of these methods to help you let it go!
The Bible is filled with so many examples of people that had to deal with all types of trials and tribulations. In Genesis, we find Moses abandoned as a baby and Joseph mistreated by family members. We are all familiar with the enormous amount of pain and suffering endured by Job or the predicament Jonah found himself in. Not to mention the Apostle Paul, who wrote a large portion of the New Testament, but had to overcome an immeasurable amount of hardship. He reminds us of these powerful words, “my grace is sufficient for you” that reassure us that we are not alone in whatever we may be facing. Because the word of God tells us in John 16:33, I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.
I have highlighted a few of the examples of those who were tested in their faith or had to endure unimaginable hardship and pain found in our Bible. Yet, we can stand on James 1:2, Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him. I Peter 5:10, And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. Lastly, we are told in I Corinthians 10:13, No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faith, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
As I previously stated, letting go ain’t always easy and I apologize profusely for oversimplifying it, but you can do it! Let’s show gratitude for starting the process of letting it go during this season of Thanksgiving. Because when you let it go, you must share your powerful testimony with others!
Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
