Thank you for joining me on this Remarkable journey to obtain freedom! To summarize, we first contemplated those barriers that prevent us from obtaining our freedom in Christ. Secondly, we made Christ the head of our lives. Thirdly, we found a quiet place to pray to center ourselves. Lastly, we have come to the fourth thing we must do - reject anything or anyone that causes us to stray away from God’s perfect will for our lives. This step is mission-critical! Because sometimes those things that cause us to stray can also give us temporary pleasure. But I am reminded of a message that God shared with me a while ago, “Sometimes you have to give up pleasure in order for Him to give you joy.”
To start, rejection can be twofold. You may sometimes feel rejected or you may need to reject that thing or person that is causing you to stray from God’s perfect will. If you are feeling rejected, God can make you whole. We all have felt rejected at some point in life. Please know that you are not alone. The scripture tells us in Psalm 27:10, Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close. But when you find that you need to reject a person or a thing, you can go to God for strength. For we are told in I Peter 5:8, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Start today by rejecting anything that may serve as a distraction that is keeping you from God’s perfect will for your life. Allyson Felix competed in the 2020 Olympic Games and has become the most decorated medalist in track and field in the United States. Yet, she states, “I want to run for eternal glory and track is great, but it’s not what life is all about.” I agree wholeheartedly! We will conclude with Philippians 3:13-14, Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do. Forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. We are Remarkably Free!
Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
