Things We Can Do To Identify Our Spiritual Gifts

We started this year by studying spiritual gifts. First, we asked, “Have you opened your gift?” Next, we discussed “What are spiritual gifts” and listed them for everyone to review and to meditate on.

We must be intentional about learning, growing, and hearing from the Holy Spirit regarding our spiritual gifts. The Bible tells us in I Corinthians 12:1, Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers, and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed.

A spiritual gift as defined by The Unger’s Bible Dictionary (2005) is any extraordinary faculty, which operated for the furtherance of the welfare of the Christian community, and which was itself wrought by the grace of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Gifts of the Spirit are:

  • Word of Wisdom

  • Word of Knowledge

  • Gift of Prophecy

  • Gift of Faith

  • Gifts of Healing

  • The Working of Miracles

  • Discerning of Spirits

  • Speaking in Tongues

  • Interpretation of Tongues

In order to identify our spiritual gifts, we can do the following in addition to

taking a spiritual gift assessment.

  • Seek God: Scriptures tells us in Matthew 6:33, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you;

  • Serve God, do something: According to I Corinthians 15:58, Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know your labor in the Lord is not in vain;

  • Stay Focus on God and our Gifts: Because scripture tells us in Ephesians 3:20, Now unto Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. If we use our gift to serve God, He will open up doors of opportunities for us and bring us before great men.

I know we all want to hear the Lord say well done my good and faithful servant. As previously stated, we will explore the following to learn more about spiritual gifts:

  • Have you opened your gift?

  • What are spiritual gifts?

  • Things we can do to identify our gifts.

  • The difference between gifts and talents.

  • How are you using your gifts?

Please take a moment this week to review this blog and to seek, serve and stay focused on God and your assignment. Now you are equipped to take the first step to start operating in your spiritual gifts. Next week, we will discuss the difference between spiritual gifts and talents. I invite you to join me on this journey to re-imagine contentment in 2022!

Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
