Have you ever been stuck in traffic and needed an off-ramp? Have you ever been in a meeting and found yourself taking that pregnant pause because you were insulted by the nature of the discussion, and you were looking for an off-ramp out of there to keep from going off? Maybe you have attended a family gathering and it quickly went to the left and you needed to escape fast? Unfortunately, you may have found yourself in a much stickier situation and you needed to escape quickly? I encourage you to take the off-ramp when you see trouble up ahead.
All week long, I found myself praying, Lord have Mercy! Where is the off-ramp? From the on-going invasion on Ukraine, recent tornados in New Orleans, the televised hearing for Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson, which included some of the most ridiculous questions imaginable, to the increases in gas prices and food. Yet, I am reminded that God will always provide a way of escape.
We are told in Psalm 141:9, Keep me safe from the traps set by evildoers, from the snares they have laid for me. I Corinthians 10:13, No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. Luke 21:36, Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.
When you feel overwhelmed by trouble on every side, remember God has provided an off-ramp! Take it! Don’t pull a double by worrying and praying. This can be exhausting. Just pray! Take the off-ramp and give it to Jesus! Thank you for your love and continued support! I am so grateful for each of you in joining me on this journey to re-imagine contentment in 2022! Let’s all take the off-ramp and give it to Jesus! Don’t forget to show mercy towards one another!
Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
