Now Is the Time to Abide!

This post is dedicated in memory of Elder Anthony Maye and Geraldine Johnson Moore. Now is the time to abide!

On December 29, when I shared the blog entitled Count Your Blessings:  Change Your Perspective, I could not have imagined what was ahead.  I listed the following scriptures to help you when facing various circumstances.  I later found myself in need of all of them. I was completely caught off guard and overwhelmed by Anthony’s sudden death. He was my fiancée/best friend visiting for the Christmas holiday.  I had to pull each of the scriptures listed below.  I also had to change my perspective.  Instead of wondering why, I decided to thank God for choosing me to share his final moments on earth!

·      When facing death: (Revelation 21:4)

·      When facing disappointment: (Proverbs 3:5-6)

·      When facing challenges: (Psalm 46:1-2)

·      When facing fear: (Isaiah 41:10)

·      When facing loneliness: (Joshua 1:5)

The Bible tells us in John 15:4-5, Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.  I am the vine, you are the branches.  He who abides in Me, and I in Him, bears much fruit:  for without Me you can do nothing. I Thessalonians 5:16-18, Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

As we move into 2025, we must not just accept Jesus as the head of our life but we must abide in Him.  This means we must have an intimate relationship with Him.  He wants us in Communion with Him continuously. We must make our relationship with Him a priority!  Once you do this you become entitled to His promises.  Since none of us know the day or the hour, we must abide in Christ and share His love with one another as if it is our final moment.

As always, thank you for your love and continued support! Join me in prayer to change hearts, to heal our land, and for the contentment and peace to handle whatever should come up!  God has so much in store for each of us and because of this, we will abide in Him in 2025!
