Listening to the Political Discourse: Let’s Take Action!

Take Action! Two people working together in the voting process

I thank God for your support during this series!  As a result, I am listening more!  I hope and pray that you are listening more in all areas of your life.  Over the last few posts, we have discussed how we should listen to God, listen to our body, and the benefits and support gained from listening to people. During our previous post, we started the last topic in the listening series which is Listen to the Political Discourse.  As noted, God is our ultimate authority, but it is our civic duty to play an active role in the political process, and how we must listen to our candidates at the local, state, and at national levels.

Now, it is absolutely imperative that we take action during this political season!  We cannot sit on the sidelines during this election cycle because we have too much at stake.  In listening to the political discourse, you have to decide which issues are most important to you.  We now have 85 days before it is time to vote, and you have to listen to who is discussing the policies that you care most about.  Only you know if it is inflation, taxes, climate control, health care, immigration, reproductive rights, crime, foreign policy, or gun control.  Listen to determine if those issues are addressed and who best aligns with your position.  I also encouraged you to get involved at some level in some way.  We can all do something!

Get involved!  You can take a small step to engage in the political process.  The dynamics have changed so much over the last few weeks.  We must encourage family members, new voters, college students, church members, and our communities to do something to support the political process and to vote!

The Bible tells us in II Peter 3:9, The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.  Romans 13:1, Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established.  The authorities that exist have been established by God. According to James 2:18, he reminds us, But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works,” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

Now, what are you going to do?  Don’t sit on the sidelines during this political season.  Your engagement, prayers, energy, and support are needed now!  I believe that one person can make a difference.  As always, thank you for your love and continued support! Join me in prayer to change hearts, to heal our land, and for the contentment and peace to handle whatever should come up! I am so thankful for each of you in joining me on this journey to re-imagine contentment in 2024!  God has so much in store for each of us. This is our year to OVERCOME!

Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
