Listen to Your Body!

Listen to your body

During the previous post, we asked 'have you checked your hearing'?  We talked about how we make adjustments in various situations and just keep moving instead of slowing down and listening for the voice of the Lord.  Today, we will talk about listening to our bodies.

In a September 4, 2022 article entitled, “How to Listen to Your Body for Resilience,” the author Leigh W. Jerome, Ph.D., states:

Sometimes we keep going when our bodies are signaling to us that we are fatigued, injured, sick, or otherwise in distress. Sometimes we push when what we really need is to relax, have a good meal, or have a conversation with a trusted friend. And, sometimes when our bodies are telling us what we need, we just ignore the messages entirely because they don’t align with our plans.

Are you guilty?  Ignoring those signals can lead to a major sickness and or disease.  We cannot become so consumed with our timelines and schedules that we overlook critical information that our bodies are sharing.  I have been guilty of this on several occasions. Take it from me, don’t allow your body to be worn out before you adhere to the minor signals shared.

The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:7-8, Be not wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.  It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.  Matthew 6:22, The eye is the lamp of the body.  If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.  Ephesians 5:29, For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church.

Listen to your body!  It can be a matter of life and death.  As always, thank you for your love and continued support! Join me in prayer to change hearts, to heal our land, and for the contentment and peace to handle whatever should come up! I am so thankful to each of you for joining me on this journey to re-imagine contentment in 2024!  God has so much in store for each of us in 2024! This is our year to OVERCOME!

Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
