It’s Personal! Are You Ready for the Big Game?

For the first time, we have the winter Olympics and the Super Bowl competing at the same time. The winter Olympics has brought together the best athletics from all over the world. Super Bowl LVI will be airing today between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals. These two teams have fought their way to this big game by outplaying all of the other teams. Their discipline and sacrifices have prepared them for this moment.

The competition was fierce and many of the playoff games were last-minute thrillers. Nevertheless, if your team isn’t playing today, the Super Bowl is so much fun to watch! We enjoy the food, fellowship, commercials, and half-time performances.

Yet, as Christians, we are in a daily battle. How are you preparing for the big game? We are told in our Bible in I Peter 5:8, Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Also, John 10:10 tells us The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy, I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. According to Ephesians 6:12, For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

We can give thanks to God for providing us with a powerful playbook (The Holy Bible) on how to prepare for the big game! Ephesians 6:11, Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. I Corinthians 9:24-25, Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to

get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Deuteronomy 28:7, The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. Romans 8:37, No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Study your playbook daily, seek Him first, meditate and pray about all things, serve the Lord with gladness, fast, ask for forgiveness, and remember -- His mercies are new every morning!

Thank you for joining me on this journey to re-imagine contentment in 2022! Enjoy the big game and prepare for your personal victory because we all want to hear well done my good and faithful servant!

Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
