Happy New Year! I am so thankful to God for allowing me to see another year. Although we are still in a pandemic, it is by His grace that we have not been consumed! I am grateful for the opportunity to share with you, and I pray that it is helping someone! This year, we will focus on how we can re-imagine contentment in order to live life from God’s perspective. Because I have several goals or resolutions for 2022, I started studying gifts. The scripture that came to mind was Proverbs 18:16, A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. This scripture made me wonder, “Have you opened your gift from God? Are you doing what God instructed you to do? If you have not completed what God told you to do, can you expect God to trust you with something else?”
Last week, we celebrated the birth of Christ! The Christmas season is a wonderful time of the year! I love the feeling of Christmas, the food, the decorations, the kindness of mankind, the peace that comes during this season, and not to mention, the beautifully decorated gifts. During Christmas, we exchanged gifts with our family, friends and loved ones. This tradition is based on Matthew 2:10-11, When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshipped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered Him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.
What if you shopped for the perfect gift for someone you loved and you spent a considerable amount of money on their gift but they never opened it. How would that make you feel? We have a specific purpose in life to meet a need and to more importantly, build God’s kingdom on earth; but what if we never opened/tapped into your gift? We all have a gift that has equipped us to accomplish God’s purpose in and for our lives. Now consider God’s feelings.
During this series, we will explore the following:
· Have you opened your gifts?
· What are spiritual gifts?
· Things we can do to identify our gifts.
· The difference between gifts and talents.
· How are you using your gifts?
So, I will ask again, have you opened your gift? Are you familiar with spiritual gifts? If you need help identifying your gift or getting back on track, now is the perfect time to get started! I invite you to join me on this journey!
Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
