Finding the Remarkable!

Since the pandemic, so many of my Remarkable activities were cancelled or rescheduled. However, we can still find the Remarkable in our everyday life. We just have to open our hearts and eyes to see it. Therefore, I have found the Remarkable in small blessings and for that I am thankful to God! Because of my compromised immune system, I have not been in a store since before March 16th. I am blessed with a Remarkable tribe of close friends, Alcornites, sorority sisters, church members and an amazing Pastor! I have lacked nothing!

I now pull out the good dishes on Sunday, I have for the first time pulled out my degrees and have them displayed, my good friend Korita created a peaceful space outside called the “Outback” to enjoy a nice meal, and we hosted a virtual back to school send-off for students headed to Alcorn State University. I have hosted this great event in my home for the past few years but I was worried about how we were going to pull it off this year. I am happy to report that we had a Remarkable time of fellowship and prayer with our students. Each Remarkable activity may seem common but becomes Remarkable as defined by Webster as the ability to go above the norm by doing, saying, offering or being that individual who puts more heart, soul, and thought into your actions. To create a Remarkable moment requires a lot of heart, soul, and thought into our actions; additionally, we have to be committed to making it happen for our own peace of mind.

According to Jeremiah 29:13, you will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I have exhausted my Remarkable list and I am seeking God for His direction, His beauty, and His majesty. I have learned that a Remarkable life is not limited to celebrations, great trips, sold out concerts, and exciting excursions but it is a life well lived with good health, a loving family and a solid faith.

Start looking for the Remarkable in your life!

Ahhhh! Thank you my sister for the reminder. It’s so easy to get caught up in just doing what needs to be done. There isn’t much thought put into it-we just do it! I will work on taking the time to really appreciate the blessings!💜
