Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a conference highlighting student participants of the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement and Student Support Services Programs. I was so inspired by the poster and oral presentations from the students. I left this event feeling a strong sense of pride and hope! Little did I know that we would receive two major decisions by the US Supreme Court that would impact higher education admissions and free speech. Both decisions were a major blow to our democracy and could easily cause someone to lose hope. Yet, I know that all is well, and our future is in the bright, creative, curious hands of students that are equipped to make a difference in this world. I was also reminded that God is with us, and we will not fail.
The Bible tells us in Ephesians 1:18, I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people. Hebrews 10:23, Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Isaiah 40:31, but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Don’t allow the changes in this world to cause you to lose hope! Anchor your hope in the Lord. None of the developments in this life and within your family caught the God that we serve by surprise. Our future is bright and in good hands. To name a few of the compelling topics our student participants researched are: anxiety, depression, molecular mechanisms of risky decision-making with mice, can mindful self-compassion lessen the impact of social media on mental health; cell proliferation and senescence in response to oxidative stress, music therapy and autism. Therefore, don’t lose hope no matter your current situation!
As always, thank you for your love and continued support! Join me in prayer to change hearts, to heal our land, and for the contentment and peace to handle whatever should come up! I am so thankful to each of you for joining me on this journey to re-imagine contentment in 2023!
Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
