As I have gotten older, I pray more and more for Divine Connections. According to a recent article by Jennifer LeClaire (January 10, 2020), Divine Connections are those God-breathed relationships that seemingly come out of nowhere and have the potential to radically impact your life – are vital to walking in your prophetic destiny. Today, I will highlight three Remarkable Things that occurred before coronavirus because they were all Divine Connections.
The first Remarkable Thing was sharing a preaching engagement with a fellow Alcorn State University (Alcorn) graduate. What’s so remarkable about this Divine Connection is that we both attended Alcorn from 1988-1992 and never crossed paths. The Washington DC Alcorn State University Alumni Chapter brought us together. Several of us were invited to share this event and she shared a powerful Word from the Lord. Minister Monica Lyles’ message was entitled, If it Doesn’t Fit--You Must Acquit (John 8:1-11, January 19, 2020). Thank you Minister Monica for this on-time message! Attending this service in Virginia was a departure from my routine and created a new Divine Connection that I know will last a lifetime and will enhance my ministry.
The second Remarkable Thing was the blessing of a kind, compassionate, and on-time Uber driver! My Uber driver picked me up each Sunday at 6:20 a.m. for 7:00 a.m. worship service. She quickly became so much more than an Uber drive. We shared family experiences and she picked up groceries and other needed supplies for me. She was able to help without making me feel helpless and for that I am grateful. What makes this connection Divine, is that she and her son rededicated their lives to Christ and joined my church. What a blessing!!!
The third Remarkable Thing was amazing! This encounter left us speechless. As I was completing driver’s education school and narrowing down my truck selection, I decided to go to the Acura dealership. The sales person, an African American female, came out to the lot to assist me. She was knowledgeable, kind and very personable. She invited me and another girlfriend inside. She asked me for my name and email address. After I gave her my name and email address, she said, “Dr. Moore!” I quickly said to myself, “Lord help me to remember this person!” She responded next by saying, “I am the person that purchased your townhome!” We were all completely shocked! What makes this a Divine Connection is that we did a split settlement. I never met the buyer and we had several challenges that caused delays in the process. By now, we are all crying and praising God and thanking Him! I didn’t purchase the truck that day but returned a few weeks later to do so.
Divine Connections are the will of God and they will help to inspire or challenge you when needed. I have peace because according to Romans 8:28, And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Each Divine Connection taught me to honor God’s timing and to trust His perfect will for my life.
What’s your Divine Connection?
