When boundaries become barriers that prevent you from obtaining your freedom in Christ - that’s a problem! To be free in Christ, we must surrender all to Him. For many years, I lived a life defined by boundaries, expectations, and routines. I found comfort in the consistency of life. Now, I have found a path to freedom after turning the BIG 5-0! This freedom includes Re-Imaging Contentment in a way that is even deeper than before.
Lately, after celebrating the first official Juneteenth holiday, witnessing the sentencing from the murder of Mr. George Floyd, and anticipating the upcoming Fourth of July holiday, I have been contemplating freedom. Are we living a life that is free indeed? Could any amount of time for the murder of Mr. Floyd have been enough? As an African American living in this country, are we still struggling with this simple but complicated gift--FREEDOM? We are told in Galatians 5:1, It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. II Corinthians 3:17 states, Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Lastly, in John 8:36, So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
To become Remarkably free, we must first accept Christ as the head of our lives. Next, we must find a quiet place to pray and to remember who we are in Christ and to always reject anything outside of His perfect will for our lives. Becoming Remarkably free is not easy with everything going on in our world, but it can be achieved, if we put God first.
Am I free from stress, competing priorities and demands, health challenges, family problems, national tragedies or local disasters? No, but I am on a path towards claiming and enjoying my freedom in Christ one day at a time.
Will you join me on this journey?
On a Remarkable Path to Freedom!
