Babies Remind Us, What a Wonderful World!

I hear babies cry, I watch them grow.

They’ll learn much more,

Than I’ll never know.

And I think to myself, what a wonderful world.

Yes, I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Louis Armstrong, 1967

Take a moment to listen to those words by the great jazz musician, Louis Armstrong, written in 1967. The song reminds us about love. The world was filled back then with hunger, pollution, and wars; but, he said, “If more of us would love each other, we would solve many of its problems.”

This week, I was reminded of this simple but profound fact by attending a beautiful virtual baby shower and a wonderful gender reveal party. Even in the midst of a pandemic, babies are being born and will meet many of the needs in our world. Babies are a gift from God! Let’s work together to provide a better world for our babies by loving each other first, by taking care of our environment, by feeding the hungry, by providing shelter to those in need, and by ending wars around the world. Our scriptures remind us in Ecclesiastes 11:5, Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things. Mark 9:36-37, Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes not only me but also my Father who sent me. Also, Luke 2:40, And the child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon him.

Yes, I think to myself what a wonderful world! Babies have a way of making all of us feel more optimistic! Therefore, let’s all recommit to doing our part to make this world wonderful for our babies and us.

Our family is excited to welcome this little girl into the world!

Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
