Are You Ready?

During my last post, we talked about Salvation. I noted that Salvation is the foundation of a Christ-centered lifestyle. Also, it is the secret component of pursuing a life with purpose and deliverance from the penalty of sin through faith in Christ. Salvation is your passport to heaven. On Friday night, a devastating tornado tore through some portions of my beautiful state (Mississippi), Tennessee, and Alabama. The state of Mississippi has been declared a disaster area by the governor. Currently, 26 people have died due to this tragedy.

This disaster is another reminder of how precious our time is on earth. During the storm, I was sure about my Salvation and not afraid of death, but what scared me the most was all of the unfinished everyday business that I have. We can’t put off our happiness, goals, and dreams, spending time with loved ones, forgiving others, traveling, finishing that book, planning for retirement, getting a will, or simply enjoying the gift of today. Are you ready if today is your last? Have you accepted Christ as the Head of your life? Do you have any unfinished business? Would you have any regrets?

The Scripture states in Psalm 90:12, So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. Proverbs 27:1, Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring. II Corinthians 5:17, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Therefore, as the saying goes, “Let’s be ready, so we will not have to get ready!” Start today by accepting Christ if you have not already done so. Let’s enjoy today as a gift from God and make the most of every moment.

As always, thank you for your love and continued support! Join me in prayer to change hearts, to heal our land, and for the contentment and peace to handle whatever should come up! I am so thankful to each of you for joining me on this journey to re-imagine contentment in 2023!

This post is in memory of all of those who died in the storm including my classmate Danny and his beautiful family.

Always look for the Remarkable in your life!
