Are You Covered?

Today, I will highlight two Remarkable Things that occurred prior to the coronavirus. First, I started 2020 listening to my spiritual father, Bishop-Elect Anthony G. Maclin during our Watch Night Service (My Season of Supernatural Arrival) and secondly, we partnered with another local church for a leadership conference with one of my favorite ministers, Bishop T.D. Jakes (Don’t Let the Darkness Fool You).

Both events were Remarkable! They gave me a solid spiritual foundation that covered and prepared me for the year ahead. Coverings are now essential, and a spiritual covering is a covenant relationship that is even more critical to our spiritual life.

The Bible tells us that we have a covenant (a covenant is a spiritual contract -- an agreement which brings about a relationship of commitment between God and His people.) with Christ and we are therefore entitled to so many blessings, coverings of protections, love, peace, health and prosperity, to name a few. Deuteronomy 7:9 tell us, Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations.

Today, we are instructed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to do the following: make sure you cover your noise and mouth; wear a mask whenever going out in public; avoid the use of surgical masks designed for healthcare workers; keep about 6 feet between yourself and others; and do not substitute a cloth face covering for social distancing. Who would have thought, our mask is now an essential accessory that we are coordinating with our attire supporting schools, favorite sporting teams, and sororities and fraternities.

As we learn to live with this virus, until we are delivered from it with a supernatural healing or medical interventions, we must cover ourselves both spiritually and physically!

As I close my blog today, I salute those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and honor those that we have lost through this pandemic.
