Living Life From God's Perspective: A Deeper Dive Into Philippians - Chapter 1

Last week, we talked about perspective when facing a storm. Throughout the rest of the month, we will take a deeper dive into the book of Philippians to help us attain a better perspective. The Apostle Paul wrote a majority of the New Testament. The structure of his writings is beautiful and our foundational text is found in Philippians 4:11, I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. What’s remarkable about the book of Philippians is the Apostle Paul. He was facing tremendous opposition. Although he was in prison, he used it as an opportunity to share the good news of Christ. Paul’s perspective was of joy, trust, thanksgiving, and confidence in God. This outlook will help us to live life from God’s perspective in our daily life. This one change from a self-focused life to a God-centered life will radically change our overall quality of life for the better.

Paul starts this chapter with a beautiful greeting found in, Philippians 1:2, Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Next, he tells us that we should have our confidence in Christ. This can be found in Philippians 1:6, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Paul also offers a clear approach to living and it is very simple and can be found in Philippians 1:21, to live is Christ and to die is gain. As people of faith, we are told in Philippians 1:27, Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel.

Next week, we will continue our bible study by reviewing chapter 2 from the book of Philippians. This deeper dive will help us to live life from God’s perspective. Don’t forget, by purchasing the Re-Imagining Contentment electronic journal pages from our Etsy store, a portion of all funds will be donated to support Hurricane Ian relief efforts in Florida. Also, if you have been blessed by Re-Imagining Contentment, I want to hear from you.

As always, thank you for your love and continued support! Join me in prayer to change hearts, to heal our land, and for the contentment and peace to handle whatever should come up! I am so thankful to each of you for joining me on this journey to re-imagine contentment in 2022!
